The professional development path from the Rotaract Club of University of Kelaniya succeeded in executing Career Fair ’25, our annual excellent event in collaboration with career guidance units. This year marks the success of the 16th installment of this initiative, which aims to improve work skills and create a meaningful career opportunity for scholars.

Career Fair ’25 is a collaborative effort involving four other university clubs – AIESEC, Leo, LED, and Gavel. The event was prepared in four comprehensive phases designed to maximize student involvement and professional development opportunities.

The first phase featured eight career open days carried out between January 22 and February 28, 2025. Prominent organizations including Mas Holdings, Unilever, ABANS, Brandix, NorthSails, Sunshine Holdings, Baur & Co PVT Limited, and Keells facilitated interviews at the place and internship. Extraordinary responses produce an average of 248.5 CVs submitted per day open, which leads to more than 1,695 interviews. We also conducted an online interview with the Lab Advice on February 5, showing our commitment to accessibility and practices of modern recruitment.

Our second phase consists of seven workshops that focus on careers carried out by industrial professionals. This session includes important topics including CV writing, LinkedIn optimization, interview tactics, company etiquette, personal career planning, and personal branding. Each workshop attracts more than 200 participants, reflecting student enthusiasm for professional development.

The main event, which was held on March 5 at the Faculty of Computing and Technology, united 11 leading companies from various industries. Every company is allocated a special interview room, creating an ideal environment for professional interactions. The event witnessed the participation of more than 500 scholars in all faculties.

Career Fair ’25 ended with a closing ceremony on March 12, turned on by SNR. Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Deputy Chancellor of Kelaniya University, and Keynote speaker Mr. Rolf Blaser, CEO A. Baur & Co. (PVT.) Ltd. This ceremony features the launch of our Fair Comprehensive Career magazine, edited by RTR. Delishia Fabian, who documents the trip and provides valuable resources for students.

Through this collaborative achievement, the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya succeeded in bridging the gap between scholars and industry, providing exposure, guidance, and valuable opportunities for professional growth.
