There’s a lot going on Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Hot off the press is a reimagination Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets along with an updated Animation Page, which will soon be followed by a new indoor experience called The Magic of Disney Animation. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers on the Run also received its biggest update since it first opened. All of this happened in just the last few weeks. So, Disney World is busy!
That’s just the beginning of what’s new and exciting at Hollywood Studios, along The most anticipated project coming to the park is still under construction. A new land inspired by Monsters Inc. franchise on the way, and for the first time, humans were allowed to explore Monstropolis.
Celebrate HUMANITY Day in Monstropolis
Disney revealed this week new details surrounding Monstropolis, including the backstory of why humans are actually allowed to explore freely without any “Code 2319” warnings going off. Following the events of the Pixar film Monsters Inc.Monstropolis knows that the power of human laughter is far more powerful than human screams. This causes a citywide change in the way monsters view humans.
As a result, a new one was founded Human Relations Department was the spearhead of that movement allowing humans to enter Monstropolis on special days: HUMAN Day (which stands for Humans Understand Monsters Is Good).
When Monstropolis opens at Hollywood Studios, guests will be able to celebrate HUMAN Day by meeting its residents, trying unique cuisine, and “entering the world of everyday monsters in a whole new way.”

Monstropolis Attractions
The main attraction in Monstropolis is a an as yet unnamed indoor roller coaster which takes riders inside the famous Door Vault as seen in Monsters Inc. The coaster will open new avenues as The first suspended coaster at a Disney Park and it first vertical lift.
Disney previously shared concept renderings of the loading bay depicting a vertical lifting mechanism. This is sure to be a great way to commemorate your visit to Monstropolis on HUMANITY Day.
If you prefer to relax and enjoy entertainment, you can visit Globe Theatre. In a previous life, the hallowed halls of the Glob Theater hosted a show featuring Muppets featuring new 3*D technology.
Based on what looks like an Easter Egg left on the front lawn of Monstropolis Horn, it looks like we’ll be able to learn more about the show currently in rehearsal at Disney Experience Presentation on August 15th at the D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Dine and shop in Monstropolis
Monstropolis wouldn’t be without the legendary Harryhausen’s (“But it’s impossible to get a reservation there!”)and Disney has revealed that guests will be able to dine at the famous venue Monsters Inc. restaurant when the land opens! Like the Glob Theatre, it looks like we can learn more about what to expect at Harryhausen’s at the Disney Experiences presentation at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event this August. Expect to find other shopping and dining options came to Monstropolis.
