As part of fulfilling the twin club agreements, We Care 2.0, initiated by the Rotaract Club of the University of Kelaniya together with the Rotaract Club of Izmir Ekonomi, Türkiye. Beyond its presence as a mere project, it seems to be a diplomatic mission while ensuring the right to the education of children who are economically challenged.
Interestingly, it began in 15Th In January 2025 and through this collaborative effort, the Committee for the Organizing of We Care 2.0 served the selected children’s group of poverty Sri Chandrasekara Maha Vidalaya, Panadura with important stationary at 06Th In March 2025. From the other end, the Rotaract Club of Izmir Ekonomi served a set of children from the Lamia Kareer Elementary School, Türkiye with the stationary goods needed to support them with education.
Being an international collaborative project, he never forgot to share this experience between the international community every week and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries. To realize this, the overall project plan and the Public Relations plan were confirmed with the help of a skilled organizing committee member.
In addition, they are in a mission to raise funds by organizing various fundraising activities. Therefore, by collecting funds from pettah, maharagama and colombo, monetary requirements are achieved and directly cause the purchase of the necessary stationery. On the day of execution, children are late with gifts and treats given to them. The members are also happy to see a small smile on their faces. Although We Care’s trip is a bumpy journey, the enthusiasm of the members made this effort!
In the end, it is worth saying that we finally made the extraordinary journey a reality together with the Rotaract Club of Izmir Ekonomi. It can also be stated that we care 2.0 is an attempt to overcome the ongoing global demand.
