World Food Day Celebrated every October 16, World Food Day is a global event that highlights the important issues of hunger and food security. Governments, associations and individuals must come together to promote agricultural practices that support sustainability, reduce food waste and ensure that everyone, around the world, has enough to eat.
The extremity of global hunger is one of the most serious challenges of our time, affecting millions of people around the world. Despite advances in animal husbandry and food products, hunger remains widespread.
According to the UN, around 690 million people experience hunger, and another 2 billion suffer from food instability in various forms. The situation is exacerbated by climate change, conflict, and profitability insecurity, which impact food security and food security, especially in remote areas.
