So, why March 3? This marked the day in 1973 when the International Trade Convention in Fauna and Wild Flora species was endangered (CITES) was adopted. CITES plays an important role in ensuring that international trade does not threaten the survival of wild species.

The focus of this year is how to get funds to places that need them the most, and how to make a sustainable financial model.
